Newborns

When to book a newborn session
The best time to book your session is during your pregnancy, and the ideal time to photograph your baby is between 8-15 days so they are nice and sleepy and to get those beautiful curly poses. I will make a tentative booking based on your due date and then wait to hear from you when you arrive home from the hospital with your brand new baby. We can then arrange a suitable time and day for your session.

Where your sessions are held
Your newborn session will be in my studio in Kyabram on weekdays in the mornings.

How long your session will take

Newborn sessions generally take around 2 hours depending on baby. Almost every session I am asked if Ive ever had to reschedule a newborn, or had a newborn that was uncooperative. The answer is no, and gosh Im happy about that. Generally its the first outing as a family coming to my studio. It’s warm, its inviting, its a place of calm and peace, it’s a safe place. I love how my parents are relaxed and comfortable within minutes of entering. I love that dads are usually snoozing and mums are watching their little babies in awe. I am very much a baby led photographer which means if your baby isn’t feeling a pose, I don’t do it, therefore they are never upset. Im constantly watching their ‘tells’ and posing accordingly.

Portraits

When to book your portrait session
Portrait sessions are generally booked up to 3 months in advance. Weekends are limited and fill up quickly so if a weekend is the only time you can arrange your family to be together, the sooner you book the better!

Where your sessions are held
I have various private properties that the owners allow me to use, depending on the style and look you are after. Of if you would prefer me to come to your home/property, that too is also an option.

How long your session will take
I allow 1-2 hours for portrait sessions. I like them to be very relaxed and I always work on children’s time clocks! So your children are shy and it takes them a little longer to relax around me, I will just wait it out until they are comfortable. We can play a game of hide and seek until they are ready!
This doesn’t happen too often though so in most cases, around an hour.

What to wear

Once your session is booked, the most common question I am asked, is what do we wear? If this is something you struggle with, I can email out an information pack to you which should make your decision easier.
The what to wear guide is full of ideas on mixing and matching clothes that you more than likely already have in your wardrobe, but are unsure how to make this work for the entire family.  It’s just a guide to try and make things a little easier for us mums to create the look we are after, a look that is uniquely yours,
